It’s finally summer break, I’m sure you’ve pinched yourself a couple of times already. Personally, it’s been the toughest semester of my college career and I have been looking forward to these next few months for what seems like forever. But even now, when I have completed my classes and received my grades, I can’t settle down completely.
Granted, I’m busy with internships but those don’t take up my entire time either. If you’re like me, you want to stay productive and make the most of your summer. Here are a few tips to ensure you don’t spend all of your days on the couch.
1. Have A Regular Sleeping Schedule
This is probably the last thing you want to do but believe me, it helps. Instead of staying up until the late hours of the night and waking up in the middle of the afternoon, stick to a sleep schedule that works for you. This may not mean waking up 7 a.m. for everyone, except for those who are naturally early risers. When you have a stable sleeping schedule, you’ll have more time and energy to do more activities, see more friends/family and travel.
2. Do Anything You Pushed Off During The Semester
There are always closets to organize, clothes to donate, books to sell for extra cash, etc. During the semester it’s understandable to push off annoying chores when we’re overwhelmed with papers and exams. But during the summer there really is no excuse to get your home in order. Once it’s done you’ll feel better about coming home to a less cluttered place and it won’t be bugging you at the back of your mind.
3. It’s A Perfect Time To Get Moving
It’s never too late to create resolutions. Getting fit is a common goal for many people but it can be difficult to get into a regime when you’re pressed for time. The summer is a great time to start exercising. You’ve heard of all the benefits there is to any activity – both mentally and physically. So why not give it a go? There’s nothing stopping you from going for a nice run, sweating it out in a yoga class or lifting some weights at the gym.
