I'm honestly writing this right now as more of a reminder and confirmation for myself, but I think it is something that everyone needs to hear. Change is scary, it's hard, but it is necessary. You will never grow in any aspect of your life if you stay sedentary and never expand out of the box you've put yourself in.
There are many reasons for change: some you can't control and some that are all you. Either way, they can be thought of in a good light. If you're forced to change your job because you got fired or you're forced to love in a new place because of school, those can be seen as amazing opportunities to start fresh and anew. If you personally choose to change your major, break up with a toxic relationship or move to a new place, you are using the opportunity cities you are given to better your life and give yourself the opportunity to learn from these changes and grow.
Both scenarios are scary because every outcome can be different from what you expect, but nonetheless, you would have learned something. It is overwhelming every time, but the buildup and overthinking of making a change is way more nerve-wracking than the actual change. I am currently in the middle of changing both of my majors, I will be switching film and marketing to digital media and advertising. I have been a mess the whole time thinking over if this is the right move for me. I know it is, but it is so hard to love away from everything you've thought you wanted for years only to start experiencing what those majors will be like, and finding out that it isn't what you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life.
But that's the beauty of life, it may be confusing and hard for me to find out that my passions aren't really my passions, but it is also beautiful to take the time to search for what I actually want to do.
My advice to you would be: Take the leap. The worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't work out for you. But if it does, your life could be changed for the better. Life seems like we have all the time in the world, but we don't. Don't waste your time doing things because you are comfortable. You will never grow to your full potential or learn things through experience. Good luck!
