1. Think positive
I know this sounds so cliche and so simple, but making it your goal to think positive often times makes your day better.
2. Listen to music
Whatever your favorite song is, turn it on, crank up the volume, and have a jam session. There's nothing quite like belting out your favorite song at the top of your lungs; surely this will make your day better.
3. Be grateful
You woke up today. You're able to attend school. You're able to work at your job. Each day is a gift. Choose to be grateful for the little things you can sometimes take for granted.
4. RAK: Random Act of Kindness
My youth group did these when I was in high school; I can't even begin to explain the warm feeling inside when I got to witness my friends impacting others lives in little ways. This could be as simple as paying for the order behind you in a drive-thru.
5. Treat yourself
Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to take some "you time." Enjoy some time alone doing your favorite hobby you hardly ever get the chance to do.
6. Make plans with someone
This gives you something to look forward to in the future.
7. Recognize emotions are a ripple effect
If you're at school or at work, your emotions more than likely have a ripple effect. Use that in a positive way. Try your best to be happy so those around you can be too.
8. Release your thoughts
I personally love journaling; it serves as a way to release thoughts and look back later to see how far I've come. But, a phone call to an old friend to catch up can do the trick as well.
9. Take a break from social media
We spend so much time on social media comparing ourselves to others. Instead of reading about other's lives all the time, take some time to live for you.
10. Find joy in the midst of your crazy, busy life
Wake up in the morning and tell yourself it will be a good day. In the midst of your crazy, busy life, find joy in each and every day.
11. Tell someone you are thankful for them
Making someone else's day often times can make yours too.
