Ikea

It's a magical wonderland of home furnishings and Swedish meatballs. Making a trip there is a whole day's excursion, making your way through the three main sections of the store that seems more like a city than a building. First, you make your way through the showroom where every piece of furniture is on display as you might set it up in your own home. Then, you shop the marketplace where you'll find dinnerware and curtains and the like. And then, finally, you're left to your own devices when you get to the final stage: the self-service furniture warehouse. It's a workout of a day and you'll most likely be exhausted for a few days following the trip.

As you can imagine, with so much space, there are so many opportunities for odd, inappropriate, sometimes even dangerous shenanigans. Here's a list of things to do in Ikea that are frowned up on and may get you kicked out of the store:

1. Play Hide and Seek.

2. Take a nap in the beds.

3. Ride the carts through the self-service warehouse.

4. Try on the shoes in the showroom closets.

5. Start a pillow fight.

6. Host a cooking show.

7. Jump on the beds.

8. Build a pillow and blanket fort.

9. Switch the fake screens on the computers with porn.

10. Host a Pampered Chef or Pure Romance party in the demo living rooms.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
