Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year with all of its magic from Santa and his remainders. If you are looking for some Christmas related things to do this Christmas season while being in or close to New York City you should continue to read this article. At times these places may get crowded, but it is so worth it to go and experience these winter wonders.

1. Bryant Park

I recently went to Bryant Park for the first time to check out these adorable little shops. I had the best time shopping with my mom and aunt around the park. Each little store has their own unique stuff to sell. If you are still trying to find that perfect Christmas gift it might be here. I know I found one of mine here.

2. Ice Skating in Bryant Park

I recently went ice skating and let me just say how much fun it was! Go with a group of friends, with your family, or a significant other and I swear you are bound for tons of fun. Outdoor ice skating is so much more fun too. With the view of the Christmas tree, all the people, the little shops, and the lights, it really sets the scene of the perfect Christmas movie.

3. Take Photos at The Rockefeller Christmas Tree

It is the big NYC Christmas tree! You must go see the tree at least once and you must take photos in front of it because did you even go and see the tree if you didn't take a selfie in front of it?!

4. Rockefeller During Christmas

Explore Rockefeller during Christmas. It is beautiful this time of the year. If you want to get a really breath taking view go up to the top of the Rock, I beat it will be worth it!

5. Union Square Christmas Market

I have not been to the Union Square Christmas Market yet, but it is 100% on my bucket list this holiday season. I plan on taking a trip into the city to visit some friends and shop around this fun looking Christmas market.

6. Hot Chocolate Dates (Spiked or not)

Go on hot chocolate dates whether you spike your hot chocolate or not you are bound to have a great time and warm up a bit. Those city winds in the winter are out to get you!

7. See The Nutcracker On Broadway

Broadway plays are always a fun and amazing time, but what better time to go see the Nutcracker a classic Broadway play than during Christmas?

9. Go For a Horse and Buggy Ride

I have never been on a horse and buggy ride in the city; however, this is something I have always wanted to do during the winter. Look at it, it just looks so magical. Why not rest your feet a bit and enjoy the magical winter wonderland around you.

10. Rooftop Igloo Bar

Looking to go to a fun and cool rooftop bar and still stay warm? Then you must go to the rooftop Igloo bar in NYC. I have not been yet, but you can believe it that you might see me there sometime soon!

P.S. Have a great holiday season!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
