A quick glance at these songs and lyrics show just how much the times have changed and how there's been a shift in what popular music is in order to accommodate the masses. We go from a romantic "And I will always love you" in the early nineties to a raunchy "Work the pole, I got a bank roll" in a matter of fifteen years. Simply analyzing the top hits gives us a basic understanding that music has changed, but it also gives us an idea that our culture and the people growing up in it are changing as well.
So what will the top hit of 2014 be? Happy? Wrecking Ball? Anaconda? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
