OCD. Usually this acronym is known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. But, to me, this acronym means Obsessive Coffee Disorder. Coffee is known to be this magical, aroma filled, energy induced liquid that people all over the world seem to love. The reason for this varies by personal taste, preference, and even smell. However, here are a few reasons why I think coffee should be indulged.

1. Just Because

Coffee is one of those drinks that can be indulged at any time of the day. Need a quick dose of energy? Drink coffee. Thirsty? Drink coffee. Feeling down? Drink coffee. Stressed? Drink coffee. The answer is always coffee.

2. It's healthy for you

That's right. Having a cup of black coffee is scientifically proven to reduce your chances of developing Parkinson's disease, can make you less stressed, gives you your daily dosage of antioxidants, and it is a great cleanser for your liver (especially if you drink alcohol)! All this in just a cup of coffee? Now that's a bargain. Did I mention that it is also good for your waistline? An 8-oz. cup of black coffee contains 2.4 calories, 0 grams of fat, and 0 sugars.

3. It tastes and smells like Heaven

Need I say more?

4. It is a wonderful source of energy

Coffee is known to give you that dose of energy you need in order to start your day, or to have as an afternoon pick me up. However, don't indulge too much. A lot of caffeine in a short amount of time is proven to have negative effects on your body, such as anxiety, muscle spasms, heart palpitations, insomnia, and dehydration.

So, there you have it. The next time you need energy, are thirsty, want a "treat", or want a healthy beverage, grab yourself a cup of coffee. You will be so glad you did.
