Love Your Damn Self

Love yourself, your uniqueness and all you have to offer the world.

Love Your Damn Self

Why have we learned to hate ourselves so much?

Why is hating yourself more acceptable than loving yourself?

When did this happen?

Better yet, why did this happen?!

Maybe it was the kids in school that tore you down when you were supposed to be developing your self-esteem.

Maybe it was all the terrible things someone told you that you began to believe.

Maybe it was a huge mistake that you made that you can't forgive yourself for.

But all those things were in the past..

So Just Stop It

Stop dwelling on the past. Nothing is going to change that way.

Stop hating yourself. Has this ever gotten you anywhere?

Stop hating that you aren't where you want to be. Instead, work towards where you want to be.

Stop hating yourself because other people are prettier, more successful or look like they are having more fun. After all, did Albert Einstein need to be pretty or have a rockin bod to make his impact on the world? Ummm, no?

Throw away every negative thing anyone has ever said about you. Because guess what? It doesn't matter! And did it ever actually matter? Or did you just allow it to matter?

Focus on Your Beautiful Self

You are your own person that has a unique perspective on this world, unique goals and unique dreams which is absolutely amazing. Love that nobody has what you have. Love that you offer things to this world that no one else can offer. Focus on your uniqueness and use this to your advantage. Show the world what you have to offer and be proud.

Love yourself enough to make yourself a priority. If you don't take care of yourself how can you take care of other people? If you need some alone time, make some alone time. If you don't feel like going out, then don't. Stop trying to please other people all the time and focus on YOU.

Love Yourself

Accept and love yourself at every part of your journey. Not just when you finally reach your goals. Accept yourself as a beautiful work in progress. I believe you should always be a work in progress. You should constantly be evolving, learning and creating new goals. Love yourself during every chapter of your life.

Moral of the Story

Learn to love the shit out of yourself. Love yourself on your ugly days, your beautiful days, your productive days, your lazy days, your happy days and your sad days! LOVE YOURSELF ALL OF YOUR DAYS!

Thanks for joining me on my little love yourself rant..

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
