13 Reasons Why Mom Deserves To Be Celebrated More Than One Day A Year

Heads up, Mother's Day is this month. We only take one day a year to really recognize how amazing our moms are. I think that we often take our relationships with our moms for granted until we do not have them right in front of us. When I first got to college I was miserable. I called my mom almost every day crying and saying I wanted to come home. One of the most significant people to support me through that was my mom, and I don't know what I would do without her.

Mom, here's 13 reasons why I love you.

1. You always support me and have my back.

2. You drove me to practice in high school at 5 a.m.

3. Despite having four obnoxious kids, you always make sure there is dinner on the table for us each night.

4. When I cry you make me feel better and make me laugh.

5. Your Thanksgiving dinner every year is INCREDIBLE.

6. You helped me face my fear of being away from home for the first time.

7. My room is always clean when I come home, even if it was a complete disaster when I left the house.

8. No one else can hit a tennis ball like you.

9. You take really really funny selfies and you don't care that we all make fun of you.

10. When I got into college you were even more excited than I was.

11. You challenge me to try new and exciting things, like swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove.

12. You are the Pure Barre queen.

13. Sometimes you annoy me and make me want to bash my head into a wall, but I love how much you care about me and make me feel special in my own way.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
