I'm Not Sorry That I Would Rather Live In A Country With A Greater Love Than Economy
Lauren Barnette

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of the country I live in. No matter how hard either side tries, there is always going to be something for everyone to argue about. There is always something one side thinks the other focus on too much. Something that has always been a topic of discussion in my 21 years of life has been the economy. Whether someone thinks we need to better the economy, move around the budget, anything about the stock market... there is no escaping the conversation as an American adult. But, something we don't talk about often enough is how we should focus more on accepting one another and becoming a greater society socially than economically.

It is not at all important to me to live in a country that has the greatest or most wealthy economy on the planet. What is important, is to know that I can be myself wholeheartedly alongside everyone else, unapologetically being who they want to be. I would rather live in a country where every type of person is allowed to be served at every establishment. I want to live in a country that basis of success is how our societal values instead of trying to be better than everyone else.

To me, the economy is important, to a point. We need to be able to sustain ourselves and survive. But, it would be a lot easier for EVERYONE to have that, if we cared enough to ensure everyone had what they need. It is 2019, and Flint Michigan still doesn't have clean water. LGBTQ are still being harassed. People are still being murdered for the color of their skin. The stock market is not what should be on everyone's minds. Don't get me wrong, it is important. But it should not be the main focus. Coming out "on top" is never going to happen if we don't take a step back and lift everyone below us up.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
