Let me just start by saying that I absolutely love to travel. I love it so much and if I could do it much much more, I would take that opportunity and run with it. There are so many places that I would love to go to if I had the chance. I would go to other states, I would go to other countries, I would go to other climates and anywhere else. I would love to go everywhere. I think that I will always come back to Maine, though, even if I decided to live somewhere else. I will never not love Maine.
I've spent 20, almost 21 years in Maine. I grew up here. I love my family like nothing else, but even if they all moved away, I think I would still come back. Though there are some things about Maine that are not great in my opinion, there are so many good things to out-number the negatives.
1. The Trees
You don't realize how many trees Maine has until you leave. The trees are so very great. I remember when I was about 16 years old, I went to Orlando, Florida to go to Disney World and SeaWorld with my family and I as soon as we got there, I just wanted to go home because I hated the lack of trees that Orlando has. I just missed Maine's trees so much. The same thing happened to me this weekend. I went to Pennsylvania with my sister and some friends to see Twenty One Pilots and go to Hershey Park and I just missed the trees so much. I missed them the whole time that I was there.
2. The Beaches
Maine beaches are so nice. I want to say that they're better than other beaches, but honestly I haven't been to many other beaches outside of Maine. They're clean, they're beautiful, and we have wonderful weather. Maine beaches are wonderful in any season. They're wonderful in the summer for swimming, lounging, and just hanging out. They're wonderful in the spring and fall with a nice sweater and jeans for a nice walk. Maine beaches are even great for a nice walk in the winter when the sand is covered in snow and the air is cold.
3. The Weather
The weather in Maine may be unpredictable, yes, but when it's nice, it's so nice. Some days, I'll step outside and in that moment want to skip anything else that I have to do that day just to sit outside and read or just to sit outside and do nothing. It's so tempting to just call out of work to sit outside on nice summer days. My favorite weather in Maine is when it's about 65 degrees, sunny, and breezy. It has to be after winter, though. If it's during summer it seems too cold, but when it's in spring, it's the nicest weather there is. Everyone is outside because we'd been couped up all winter and it always seems like the day to get things done.
