An Open Love Letter To Kenny Chesney

Oh mister Kenny Chesney. You make the winter a little more bearable. You bring the sunshine to the soon-to-be snowy streets of Ohio. You make the islands come to life and I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to feel like I’m on an island every day I listen to you.

Kenny is gorgeous…

How could you not love a tan man who can sing? I can’t decide if it’s the tan or the fact he can sing; either way, thank you Mrs. Chesney for gracing the world with your beautiful son.

Kenny songs make you want to dance...

When I hear a Kenny Chesney song, I just want to get up and dance around. I just want to put on my bikini and dance even if people are watching. Sorry if I just painted a terrible picture for you. He just makes the music you want to enjoy.

Kenny may have gotten you a little drunk…

Blue Chair Bay Rum and the song "Living in Fast Forward" together are never a good idea. Thank you Kenny for giving me a couple nights of bad discussions. Your music and your rum, sir, have gotten me into some trouble.

Kenny you wrecked my bank account…

There is only one other human who loves Kenny more than me and that’s my mother. Merry Christmas, happy birthday, happy Mother's Day, and happy Thanksgiving Mom. I hope you like your nice seats because I basically sold an organ for you. It is all so worth it. My bank account may hate me but I’m so glad you are excited.

Because of Kenny you've probably tailgated…

It is not a Kenny Chesney show if you didn’t tailgate before it. You would think that there is a football game happening because of all of the tailgaters doing their thing. Different Kenny Chesney songs are blaring all across the parking lot. The smell is a mix of burgers and booze.

Kenny made me cry…

Kenny you get me every time with "You and Tequila". You would have thought someone punched me in the gut because I’m ugly crying. It is such a beautiful song. Thank you sir for giving me so many feelings.

Kenny made me laugh…

Kenny has a way of bringing people together. The smiles and the laughs are almost contagious. It is impossible to be angry listening to Kenny Chesney. It just is not possible.

Kenny Chesney has this indescribable way of bringing people together. He has this way of drawing the best out of everyone. The island vibes just make everyone and anyone smile. Thank you Mister Chesney for the many wonderful memories you have given so many people.

Sincerely,

A Lover of Island Vibes

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
