Reasons To Love Jhene Aiko

Here are 9 reasons why I absolutely adore Jhene Aiko

901
Reasons To Love Jhene Aiko

Jhene Aiko is an amazing artist, in my opinion. Her music gives off positive vibes while making you reflect back on life at the same time. She puts anything and everything from the depths of her soul in her songs which makes her audience relate to her in all of her music. Her voice is soothing and calms someone on even the worst of days.

Did I mention that she's drop dead gorgeous? If you are ever wondering what I'm playing in my earbuds, 99 percent of the time I am jamming out to Jhene. And here's why:

1. She Speaks The Truth

Jhene Aiko is becoming the voice that each female has suppressed at least once, and speaks from the depths of her soul. "Spotless Mind" is a pretty good representation of the beautiful songs she creates.

2. Turn up

You could listen to her music and collaborations to get pumped up at any time, have you heard the song "Post To Be" featuring Omarion and Chris Brown? Its pretty much played at every party or gathering if you have not. To try and not to dance to this song is near impossible.

3. Chill Out

When you are in the mood to relax just play her entire "Souled Out" album and you will be all set for the rest of your day. "Bed Peace" featuring Childish Gambino is an uplifting and relaxing song to chill out to. The beats she uses are usually always mellow and seems to trigger something in your head that quickly lifts your spirits.

4. Need To Cry?

Have you gone through a break up, or just need to let your emotions flow? Her songs can help with that too. I highly recommend "The worst" and "Comfort Inn Ending". She has a way of putting all of those jumbled thoughts in our minds into beautiful lyrics that perfectly describe the situation.

5. Amazing Quotes

Need more captions for your selfies? Her songs might as well be everyone's go to for lyrics. Every other line if not more frequent than that hides the most beautiful quotes that is easily relatable. "3:16 am" is your biggest help in this department

6. Need To Be Empowered?

Her songs can easily do that for you. I think "The Pressure" is the better representation of this. She points out the reasons to be better than what is hurting you.

"It is really out of my control, the way you feel is not my problem"

7. Creates The Best Imagery

Listening to her music creates these beautiful images in your head. "Blue Dream" makes such amazing pictures with in your mind just with the use of words.

"When you opened my eyes, made me notice where the ocean was holding the sky"

8. She Is Absolutely Gorgeous

How is it fair for someone to have this talent and be beautiful at the same time? Even when she goes without makeup or with different hair color/style she still kills any trend she rocks with no issue.

9. She Never Forgets Family

She has a song with her beautiful daughter Nami featured on it, "Promise" will melt your heart in 30 seconds. Her brother, Miyagi, sadly passed away of cancer and she mentions him in multiple songs as well as dedicating the song "For My Brother" to him.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
