The Victoria Secret Fashion Show is one of television's most watched programs every single year, and yes, I watch it religiously, envying all those who get the front row seats. But as everyone is sitting down with their glass of wine to indulge in the intricate bras and panties, we all have the same thought: I love but hate watching this fashion show. Everyone has that love/hate relationship with The VS Fashion show for multiple reasons...
1. Can I be a model already? It is pretty obvious that all those models have killer bodies that we all envy, and we like to think that we all look amazingly hot as well, but once we see Alessandra Ambrosio strut her stuff, we immediately schedule gym time for the next two weeks.
2. Am I actually going to wear that? So many different lines are debuted each year during the fashion show, but they are all dolled up with some sort of themed outfit, which, lets be honest, kind of turns us off from the design. I mean, yes, it is so cool that you are able to dress it up with bicycle handles, or some elaborate wing design, but I just want to see what the bra itself is going to look like.
3. Seriously, that is who you asked to perform? I love watching all of my favorite performers during the fashion show, and sometimes I get way too distracted to even look at the models themselves and what they are wearing, but it actually really sucks when they get one of your least favorite artists to perform. Sometimes I question their performer choices. I mean Ed Sheeran just doesn't fit with the whole sassy and classy theme. Can we bring back Maroon 5?.....
4. Do I really need to know every single detail about every single model? I love that we get to go behind the scenes and get the models' viewpoints on the fashion show, but I do not need or even want to know about your whole life story. Can we get back to the fashion show and all the pretty bras?
5. What does that theme even mean? Every year they choose a different theme, and every year I think that it gets more ridiculous. But at the same time you can't take your eyes off of their costumes, because they are so elaborate and sparkly. But on the real, I would like a relatable theme next year.
I don't think that I will ever miss watching the VS Fashion Show, but I will not miss the love/hate tug of war feeling that it always brings my heart, and I am sure that many of you lovely ladies feel the same exact when watching as well. I also suggest going to the Rec Center earlier now, since it it is going to be full of us model wannabe's.
