I stood upon the mountain ridge
Looking for Sea
I sought
Nessies bigger than life
Mermaids who trade their voice to be the prince’s wife
Noah’s Ark, Loreley and Grindylows
Lady of the Lake in Avalon, who knows, I might
But there are no Seas now
At least not on Earth, I know
Because people grow accustomed to Siren’s songs
And the once fickle storms can be forecasted on TV
We kill Leviathans with cannons and bombs
We kill Seas with our own hands
We realized there is water in Sea
---- Therefore, Sea is in Sea no more
Indeed, Sea was once vibrant and full of possibilities
Now it’s just H2O and NaCl
I now realize I cannot find Sea
Tracing every drop of water on Earth isn’t the right way
You still cannot know, or even imagine
The motions of Sea, what it’s doing, what it’s thinking
All I looked for was a legend
A fantasy that can never be fulfilled or envisioned
A promise long lost in the echoes of ancient times
Yet I still stand
Upon the mountain ridge
Looking for Sea
And hoping, with all sincerity and passion
That I would one day see
Nessies, mermaids, Loreley and Grindylows
---- Who knows, I might
