I remember ever since I found out about Lollapalooza I wanted to go. I have always loved going to concerts but the idea of going to concerts 3 days in a row seemed amazing. Now Lollapalooza is 4 days long and it's the best 4 days of your life. You haven't experienced life if you haven't been to Lolla!

1. "Over 170 performances on 8 stages from 11 am to 10 pm."

Lolla is from August 2-5th. They have an artist from every genre. They have popular artists to artists you've never heard of. They have someone performing every minute from 11 am to 10 am. They have the best four days of your life all planned out for you. Yeah, it's kind of expensive to go all 4 days but normally to go see one artist is $150. Why do that when you can pay around $400 to see 170+ artist?

2. You get to dress in the coolest outfits for 4 days.

This is a place where everyone's style is welcomed. Lolla isn't like Coachella where you're supposed to dress hippie, at Lolla you see every style. You get to come up with the coolest outfits and everyone compliments you the whole weekend. People probably already have outfits planned for Lolla and it's only February. I already have two shirts picked out! Oh, and you get to see guys wear jerseys.

3. The accessories people use to go with their outfits are amazing.

The amount of time and effort people put into their Lolla outfit is amazing. It's the earring, bracelets, bracelets, body jewelry, the makeup, sunglasses, fanny packs, the hair, and most importantly the GLITTER! This is a weekend where glitter is a must!

4. THE FOOD IS AMAZING.

On your way from stage to stage, they have Chow Town. Chow Town has 35 places to eat. In my opinion, Cheesie's Pub & Grub is the best place to eat! It's the best-grilled cheese on this planet. Also, The Purple Pig is to die for!!!

5. The artist put on their best performances.

At Lolla, the artist only gets an hour to perform. They play all their popular songs from a lot of their different albums. Also, since they share the stage all day they don't really get to set up. A majority of artists just have them and their band. This helps because it's just about the music. Since Lolla is a summer festival it's supposed to just be relaxing so the artist just let it go and go crazy!

6. You can dance as crazy as you want

Lollapalooza is a place where every one just wants to have fun and not care. No one will judge you for your dance moves I promise.

7. They have awesome security.

It’s sad that I even have to talk about this but I think it is important for people to know. Lollapalooza has a ton of security. They have Chicago police all around the area. Also, they go around the park before everyone gets to come in with dogs to make sure everything is safe. When you walk into the festive you get patted down and go through a medal detector. Since this is an outdoors festival they have a bunch of security routs in case of bad weather conditions. I honestly have never felt unsafe at Lollapalooza.

8. They have a ton of free activities for you to do.

Everyone loves free stuff am I right? Lolla has a ton of sponsors and some of the sponsors give you free stuff. From the past two years, I got a ton of Lolla bandanas, drawstring bags, sunglasses, light up tambourins, shirts, temporary tattoos, and arm paint.

9. You are surrounded by thousands of people who all love the same artist

Image your favorite is on stage and everyone around you is singing the songs. You get to meet some of your favorite artist fans. Like how awesome is that! Yeah being in between a bunch of sweaty bodies isn't always the most fun but it's a whole different experience everyone should experience. It's not like standing in an arena and everyone has their own seat. The picture below I was in the second row!

10. It's in Chicago

Chicago is already an amazing city and when you add Lollapalooza it makes it the best city.

11. They provide Interrupters.

They have interrupters at every stage and oh my god they are more interesting to watch sometimes. They can sign rap so fast it's crazy. They make sign language so beautiful, it's really something to see.

12. You can spend time with your friends

Lollapalooza is a weekend to just get away with your friends and have the time of your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
