Living life on the Wilde side is good for the soul. It exposes you to adventure, comedic relief, and the kind of life advice your mama can't even provide. I don't know this for certain, but I can imagine Oscar Wilde would make the greatest male best friend of all time. There's also a high probability that I am one of his biggest living fans. I only brought two books to college: the Bible and a collections of his plays -- if that tells you anything. To put it simply, he knows everything about anything. Here are some of his best quotes that are sure to make an enthusiast out of all of you.
"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead."
Oscar Wilde's words are, pretty much, all beautiful. You can take any line out of a play, or from a collection of his quotes, and paint them directly on to a canvas.
"How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being."
If you have the chance to enjoy any of his plays, you will notice he really appreciates women. Although it has been 160 years since his birth, he had very contemporary ideas about female empowerment
"It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious."
Wilde makes you think. His perception of humanity is incredibly interesting; he classifies people in unconventional ways, which brings an air of quirkiness and intrigue to his writing.
"My own business always bores me to death; I prefer other people’s."
He is hilarious. I encourage you to find out for yourself. So grab a cozy blanket, sip on some sleepy-time tea, and find your Wilde side!
