Living on campus in the winter can be the hardest thing to do. Especially if you're like me and have 7:45 classes almost every morning. It is cold outside, which makes me not even want to get out of bed. When I get up it is early and still icy outside since they have not salted yet so I have mini heart attacks from almost falling after every step I take. Living in Michigan does not make it any better. One day it will be sunny out and no snow then the next day its a blizzard and we have five feet of snow.
Getting out of bed is one of the hardest things to do. Your bed is comfy and warm. Why would you want to leave it? You decide to lay there for a few more minutes and eventually fall back asleep.
When you finally get up, you have to decide whether you want to look nice and freeze or put on a bunch of layers. You decide to dress warm and end up looking like Ralphie's little brother, Randy, from A Christmas Story.
Now you are ready to go outside in the cold. You try to walk fast but end up looking like a weirdo. Then you start to slip on ice. .
But luckily, you don't fall. You just hope no one saw you slip. So you just walk a little slower and keep your head down. Just as you are halfway across campus, a random blizzard starts.
You finally make it to your class. You walk to your seat and look out the window. There is no more blizzard, now it is sunny outside. Then you sit in your seat looking confused.
By the time your class is over, you are ready to go back to bed. You get all bundled up again and go outside and start the long cold journey back to your bed. You encounter random ice patches and blizzards, but the whole time you are thinking about how nice it will be to get back in that warm, comfy bed in your dorm.
You finally get back to your dorm. You take off all of your layers and run to your bed.
You then get to take a quick nap before having to bundle up again to head off to your next class.
