Lyrical Lemonade has been hosting some of Chicago's craziest concerts over the past few years. From Lil Uzi Vert's first Chicago show to their newly announced summer festival, "The Summer Smash." Their festival features close to 25 artists like Yung Bans, Vic Mensa, Trippie Redd, and many more. The festival will take place later this summer on August 19th at Douglas Park in Chicago. Even though Lyrical Lemonade has done some crazy shows in the past, this is the biggest and possibly their best yet.

One of the stand-out artists on that lineup is Lil Skies, who was actually here for a free show on July 11th. Lyrical Lemonade announced the free show on Monday, July 9th and the tickets sold out in about five minutes. The show was held at Patio Theater which holds about 1500 people. Even if it's free, 1500 tickets in less than five minutes are absolutely insane. When I saw the announcement, I didn't think it'd be a free show. Usually, their shows run for about $10-$20 but from the looks of it, they wanted to give back to the city.

Lil Skies and Lyrical Lemonade put on an insane show for Chicago that we'll never forget. It's amazing to see the city come together for the love of music and having a good time. This was not Lil Skies first rodeo in Chicago and surely not his last. The energy he brings to the stage is on a completely different level than most artists out there right now. The fans radiate that energy and his shows are out of this world.

Skies played several tracks from his debut project "Life of a Dark Rose." Songs like "Nowadays" and "Red Roses" which have music videos directed by Lyrical Lemonade owner, Cole Bennett. On top of that, he performed "Welcome To The Rodeo" and "Creeping" which also have Cole Bennett directed music videos. In addition to those tracks, Skies performed songs like "Big Money" and "Lettuce Sandwich" which kept the same energy as his biggest tracks. The entire venue was hyped up through the entire night. If you were lucky enough to get a ticket and see the show, thank the ones that made it happen!

It was amazing to see Skies perform for the city of Chicago once again. Like I've said many times, his energy continues to be unlike anyone in the music industry. The best part about it is that he's just getting started. Catch him at "The Summer Smash" in August.

Lyrical Lemonade had Lil Tracy and Yung Bans on Friday, July 13th which also shut the city down. Whenever LL hosts a show, it's a huge success. Whether that comes from curating music's rising stars to perform or their loyal fan base, the shows are top notch. Make sure to get your tickets for Lyrical Lemonade's "The Summer Smash" for August 19th. Tickets are live at www.thesummersmash.com

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
