Fat Amy, or should I say Fat Patricia, is truly a role model. Watching her in "Pitch Perfect" and "Pitch Perfect 2," she has taught many life lessons by who she is:
1. Embrace your body and love yourself.
As we all know, just by hearing what she calls herself, Amy is not the thinnest girl in the world. This does not stop her in any way. Amy loves her thick beautiful self and embraces who she is. She knows she’s hot and that is all that matters.
2. Laugh at yourself.
Let’s all take a moment to remember when Fat Amy accidentally exposed herself to the nation and the President of the United States in "Pitch Perfect 2." The best part about it is that she owned it. Amy is constantly cracking jokes, laughing at herself, and making a fool of herself, and that is how we should all be. Amy knows how to make a joke, take a joke, and live life to the fullest with a positive attitude.
3. Don’t let anyone bring you down.
Amy never lets anyone bring her down. She never lets the haters hurt her, but instead she brings herself up. Aubrey always yelled at Amy, but that never stops her from killin' it. Bumper always calls her names and make fun of her, but she just throws it back in his face. The rest of Bumper's crew along with many other students in the movie make fun of Amy, but she never lets it get to her.
4. Be confident.
Sure Fat Amy is not the most talented singer of the bunch, but she sure as heck acts like it. Sure Amy is not the hottest of them all, but you wouldn’t know it by the way she acts. Amy has so much confidence that it oozes from her. When someone says she can’t do it, she proves them wrong and rocks it. The only person who can tell you you are not good enough is yourself, but if you have Amy's confidence nothing will bring you down.
5. Go for what you want.
In the second movie, Bumper asks Fat Amy to be exclusive with him and she shoots him down. Later in the movie she realizes the mistake she made and runs back to him to ask for a second chance. She was not nervous about being rejected, she went for what she wantd and she got it. Amy never let’s anyone stop her from getting what she wants whether it be a solo, a boy, or winning nationals.
6. Do what you want.
Put Fat Amy down for cardio? Think again sister. Fat Amy never lets anyone tell her what to do. Don’t date a treblemaker? Ha. Amy refuses to listen to people who tell her what to do and how to do it. Amy went rogue during one of their performances, which helped them move onto the next round. Fat Amy knows what she wants and with her confidence she never lets anyone tell her what to do.
