College is a tough place. Whether it involves classes, making friends, getting involved, or getting accustomed to the new lifestyle you will have.
Life as a commuter student is even harder than living on campus. Certain students have the mentality of going to class and going home with no means of spending more time at school. For me, being a commuter student brought more unsatisfactory feelings.
I transferred schools after living on a college campus for a year and realizing it wasn't for me. The decision to become a commuter student was a no brainer. I could live at home and save so much money. This again made it tough to make friends and enjoy my college experience over all.
I finally decided to get involved and though it made me happy, I seemed to be more upset because staying on campus all day or all night wasn't easy. Once the social aspect was taken care of, as a commuter driving everyday seems okay until you're actually in the car. I never seem to have any luck when it comes to missing traffic or being able to park in the lot right next to my classes. The road rage continuously grows until I'm out of the car.
Every student has its complaints whether they are a commuter or an on campus student. Each student gets a good education at a good school, and that is the true benefit.
