Dear Best Friend,
I know I do not tell you this nearly enough, but you need to hear about how much you mean to me. Throughout the years, people have come and gone, but you are the one person who hasn't been temporary. You have been permanent. You have been here through the unspeakable days in middle school, the days that are difficult to look back on.
You were there when I went through the braces phase and you told me I still looked pretty, even though we both know I did not look good. You sat with me while I cried all hours of the night about the guy I thought I was in love with and thought I couldn’t live without. You were there to tell me that I deserved so much better and that time truly does heal all wounds. If I am ever having a bad day, you never fail to send me the ugliest but funniest Snapchats I have ever seen. Sitting back and thinking about all the times we drove in the car with all the windows down singing, "I'm calling dibs, on your lips, on your kiss" makes me smile. And, if any one of you reading this doesn’t know that song, go look up “Dibs" by Kelsea Ballerini, because it is an absolute banger.
At the end of the day, I just know that I wouldn’t be surviving without my best friend. I definitely could do without all the breakfast dates or Chipotle runs because we both have to keep our beach bods in somewhat good shape for this summer. I can not wait to make silly memories (regrets) together on the lawn at the XFinity Center at all the concerts. Not just the concerts, but I'm looking forward to all the years to come that we will get to spend together.
Every best friend relationship is completely different, but watching us grow from being strangers to becoming sisters has been some of the best years of my entire life. Meeting you in 8th grade has honestly changed my life and I know if I never met you my life would be drastically different. So, here’s to you, and how much you will always mean to me, all the Marylou's trips, all the long drives with no destinations and all of the nights we spent on the beach waiting for the sunrise.
As the legend Tim McGraw has once said:
“Life with you makes perfect sense you're my best friend."
