I just want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you for giving all you have so that we can live in prosperity. Thank you for reaching deep down inside and finding the courage and confidence to depart on a path that is less traveled. Thank you for fighting for our freedom. Thank you for protecting us from things we could not even fathom, and dangers we do not even want to imagine. Thank you for being the heroes this country needs. Thank you for being the light in the darkest of times.
Quite often, Veterans are not given the appreciation they deserve. Sure, every November the country recognizes what you do for us. However, I think you should all be thanked every single day. No one understands what you all go through each and every day, regardless of if you have just graduated basic training, if you just returned from your third tore, or if you have been retired for 20 years. You give up your own personal freedoms to secure our freedoms, and we owe everything to you.
Unfortunately every day, veterans are left out to dry on the streets. Unfortunately every day, veterans are disrespected. Unfortunately every day, veterans are taking their own precious lives. For every veteran out there who is living on the streets unemployed, just keep fighting like we know you can. You are close to the light at the end of the tunnel, so do not give up. It’s our turn to help you. For every veteran who is sitting there secluded in a dark room wondering if the pain is worth living anymore, please refuse to surrender to the misery that is bombarding your mind every second of the day, for you are stronger than that. For every veteran who suffers from PTSD, I am here to tell you that you can do it and you can convert agony into happiness. Your life matters. Don't give up now after everything you have accomplished. For every veteran who has transitioned back into every day civilian life while constantly being reminded of the terrors of war, I am here to say we owe you our lives for what you’ve done for us. Once again, thank you.
To everyone out there whose eyes wonder upon these words, take a second to help a veteran in need. When you pass one, take a second to say, “Thank you for defending your life.” You never know how much you can impact a life, for a simple “thank you” can save a life. For any veteran out there who can’t find help, please reach out to dontgiveup08080@gmail.com and we will try as hard as we can to help you in whatever way you need. We will be here to talk to whenever you need it. You are not alone. Don’t give up.
It is time that we give back to all of you. It is our turn to protect you from the darkness that may lie inside your minds. To all the young veterans who just graduated, or will soon be graduating basic training, you do not know what your journey will be, but always have faith that you will see it through. Believe in yourselves. Thank you for being the newest generation of heroes that this country is lucky to have. Thank you to all veterans and God bless America!
