No one ever said it would be easier.
But Hell, no one ever claimed it would be this hard either. Yet, sometimes that's just how life can be.
I love art, I live art, I breathe art, it runs in my veins. To create is how I survive. Hence, why I have an Odyssey so that I can continue to create with my words.
I use many different mediums, sticks, leaves, paint, pencils, anything I can find. I was always creating ever since I was a child. I would make houses for fae out of sticks. Now I create entire worlds inside of a pen, and craft vast creatures with a pencil.
Making art is what helps me be happy. Yet, it's not always easy. Sometimes artist block gets you. Sometimes the energy is just drained out of you. For those of you who make a living off of it, sometimes sales are low and bills aren't being paid.
Being an artist, like anything, isn't always glamorous. Sometimes it's painful. But that's exactly how you know you're alive is through your struggles. It's how you grow.
The first step to accomplishing your artistic dream whether it's sharing your art with the masses or just improving your style?
Never give up!
Cheesy as it may be, it's straight facts. Art is a journey and not a destination. Beyond that, there is no right way to go about art. Be self-taught! Go to art classes! YouTube! Experiment! Don't be afraid to test your limits and boundaries- push to be the best that YOU can be!
It's not easy but most things worth doing aren't. If art is truly what lies at the center of your heart then don't be afraid to pursue it!
The second piece of wisdom?
Put yourself out there!
Use hashtags! Join groups and communities! Post your art on your social media! Look for constructive feedback! Its out there and there's plenty of it to go around.
I personally have my DeviantArt @deerrose6 for exactly this purpose! I'm not looking to take my art anywhere big, but I do enjoy the community supports the website provides and creating friends on there. There are tons of kind people and talented artists there looking for the same thing as you- whether it's a commercial success or personal improvement.
Those are two of the most powerful tips I use for myself, and I was wanting to hare to anyone who might need to hear them!
Peace be with you, and blessed be your artistic journey!
