A Letter To My Growing Senioritis

Dear Senioritis,

Winter break is quickly approaching and I feel the need to address a few issues I have with you. As a senior, it is very important to not fall behind. I need to finish all of my classes in order to graduate. I'm not asking for much. I don't need straight A's. Heck, I can live with any grades at this point, just as long as they are passing grades. You are making it extremely difficult for me to get my life together. About a month ago I wrote an article about senioritis and at the time it was all fun and games. I laughed it off. Now, this is serious. I demand you stop being lazy.

I am senior is college and before I know it, graduation will be here. I can't risk it. Going to my classes is very important. Getting my homework on time is very important. Sitting around on youtube needs to stop. How many times can you actually watch acoustic versions of your favorite songs? Stop trying to find a new Netflix series to start watching. You really don't have the time to commit to a new show. That also goes for old shows. I find it very unnecessary to watch New Girl from the start of season 1 to it's current season over actually writing your paper for class. You and I clearly know how it starts and ends. It's not going to magically change. Stop pretending to sleep through those alarms. I heard it. You heard it. Yet class still wasn't important enough to attend?

One very important subject I would like to discuss is my bed. There are other places in my dorm room, better yet, other places on campus that you can sit down to do homework without getting the urge to just sleep. Let's be real, my bed at home is 10x comfier. Aren't you tired of having to redo your hair multiple times a day just because you napped? Yeah. ME TOO. You are officially lazy and pretty selfish if you ask me. Let's work together and kick butt the rest of the semester. Ya know, before it's too late... Let's start managing our time and getting assignments done. We have Thanksgiving break is coming and before you know it, Christmas will be here and we can watch all the netflix and youtube we want.

I hope you understand where I am coming from.

Sincerely,

A fed up senior in college

P.S. This letter took me two days because you kept telling I could just write this tomorrow.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
