A Letter To My Neighborhood Best Friends

Forever and Always, APW

A Letter To My Neighborhood Best Friends
Morgan Pimentel

It feels like just yesterday we were all playing around the cul-de-sac together hunting for fossils and playing silly games. While I know that we are all happy where we are, it simply isn't the same being more than a two minute walk from you. I have been blessed to always have someone to hang out with and gossip to, and I have been so lucky that we have shared so many memories.

Now as we are further apart than ever, I want to express my gratitude to you. Currently, one of us is in Boston, one in Paris, and the other in Colorado, yet I still feel so close to you. You have given me a feeling of inclusion since early elementary school, and I am so grateful that it has continued all of the way through college. I underestimated the importance of our time together, and I would go back to being with you all of the time in a heartbeat.

I want you to know how proud I am of you. In less than one full year of college, we are all finding our paths and going places we could never have imagined. I have always known that you would do incredible things, and I am so happy I get to witness and be a part of them. Watching you grow from a distance is bittersweet. I want to spend every single moment with you, cheering you on and encouraging you. I get so happy seeing you discover your strengths, and I wish I could be there for the celebrations.

With all of this being said, I am beyond excited that we will be back together before I know it. Only two short months until summer begins and our time together commences. I am looking forward to movie nights and beach dates, and I look forward to singing horrible car karaoke with the two of you. The thought of being with you again makes my heart incredibly happy, and I cannot wait to see your growth in person.

No matter where I go in life, I want you to know that you will always be my people. I will always trust you and believe in you. Our bond is so strong and I cannot imagine where I could possibly be without you. Keep living your dreams, and we will be together again before we know it. I will always have this pride for you and I promise I'll express it when I see you again soon. Forever and Always, APW.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
