Thanks for never leaving.

A Letter To My First Best Friend
Black Thumb Gardener

Hey you,

Our story begins way back in first grade, and the end is unknown. This past weekend I watched you get married. Watching you walk down the aisle and move forward with your life makes me reminisce all the amazing memories we shared.

I'll start by thanking you. Thank you for being the best first best friend I could have asked for. We lost touch after first grade because I switched schools, but that was no road block to our friendship. We reconnected when we played wreck softball together, and I'll never forget the season that your dad called me 'Katlin' because they misspelled my name on my shirt.

Throughout high school, even though we didn't go to the same school, you invited me on your annual church retreat. There was no other way I could imagine spending those weekends. We always end up spending so much time apart and then playing catch up when we're together. Miraculously, the world has kept us connected, and I'm more than thankful for that. We haven't seen each other much recently, but I've always known you were just a text away.

These past 15 or 16 years that I've known you have been nothing but memorable. Thank you for all the memories that we share, I'll cherish them forever.

Now, I pray that you have a happy and healthy life with your husband. I pray for only the best for you.

I hope we can catch up soon.

Sincerely,

A friend who wishes she was around more

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
