To My Favorite Dog,
You are getting old now. 15 years high and you are still the best friend I have ever had. We have done so much together, and you have seen me grow up. I remember the first time I saw you like it was yesterday but didn't yet know that you were going to be the best gift that I will ever receive. You are the only thing on this planet that can make me feel every emotion at once. Happy, excited, sad, mad, energetic and better yet thankful. Thankful that I was able to have you growing up to watch me go through challenges and great times. You were able to see me make new friends, and you would meet new friends too. You would wag your tail and whine every time a new person would walk in the door. You were not very much of a guard dog, but I still love you. Everyone would ask, "Does she bite?" and I would just laugh because I knew you wouldn't harm a thing.
I will sincerely miss you greeting me at the top of the stairs every time I come home, wiggling your butt, and going in between my legs because you couldn't contain your excitement. I will miss the silly tantrums you would throw when you got excited. You would run so fast and so far down the street, I would wonder if you would come back to me. Sure enough, you did. You could make me laugh harder than I've laughed before, and I will never forget that. The slobber that would hang from your mouth was very disgusting but instead of being grossed out by it; I would just laugh and help my friend out.
I can't believe how fast time has flown by and how much you have seen me go through. You have been there for the ups and downs and were the only good shoulder I had to cry on. You would sit there and listen to me, and would never judge me or walk away. You knew when I was sad, and you wouldn't leave my side until I was happy again. Although you never cuddled with me, and I mean never, I could still feel the love from your tender heart and your wise eyes. What's a girl to do without her best friend?
You are getting old now, and time is running short, but you need to remember that no one will replace you in my heart for as long as I live. You will forever and always be the best dog I will ever have. I will always remember the times that we shared together and the strong bond that will never be forgotten.
You make my heart whole, and I'll miss you dearly when you leave for doggy heaven. Thank you for letting me be apart of your life and having the best of a friend to grow up with and experience my life with.
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."- Josh Billings
Love always,
Your Best Friend.
