To The Guy Who Changed My Mind

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To The Guy Who Changed My Mind
Francesca Craven

To my current boyfriend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You finally broke the darkness and opened up the light of love again.

You came into my life when I needed you the most and you stuck by me while I was figuring things out. You never gave up on me and you'll never know how much that means to me.

Before you came along, I was broken and still trying to heal from the damage done by the last guy. Before you, I had a past of toxic relationships. I spent a lot of days crying and wondering if I was ever going to find someone who would always stick by me and would love me for me. I was literally terrified of the thought of a relationship, so much to the point that it would panic me. So thank you for being my friend for the five months leading up to us dating. Not only a friend, but one of my best friends. You sat by and watched me figure my life out for five long months even though you loved me the whole time.

I've always been able to be myself around you. With you, it's always just come naturally. I can eat normally in front of you (which isn't always the most attractive quality about me), I can joke around with you, and I never feel pressure to change myself. I'll never forget when we first started dating and we were at McDonald's and you ordered a McChicken off the value menu, asked me what I wanted, and I asked if I could get the Big Mac meal. Instead of looking at me horrified or disgusted, you just started laughing and when the cashier asked if I wanted a large drink with that you said, "Eh, might as well!" That's how I knew you really did love me for me. You didn't complain that you had to spend more money on me, but instead laughed at the fact that I wasn't about to sugarcoat the fact that I was hungry.

You tell me every day how beautiful I am, give me hugs and kisses, and make sure I know how important I am. You welcomed me into your family and they took me in with loving arms, just as my family has done with you too. I know you and your family would do anything for me and I couldn't be more grateful for that.

You have shown me what happiness really is and even though we sometimes argue, we work at what we have. We know that nothing worth having comes easy and every day is amazing with you. You have let me into parts of your life that I'm sure others don't even know are there and I'm glad you love me that much to share that with me.

Thank you for not only being my boyfriend, but also my best friend (as cliche as that sounds). You've shown me that it's okay to love again and to let someone in. I'm so glad God brought me to you and I thank him every day (even on days that we argue). I couldn't imagine life without you and every day spent with you is a blessing.

I love you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
