Dear Mailynn/Loser/Bby/My Lover,
I’ve been staring at this blank document for two days now trying to figure out how to put into words how much I love you and how much you mean to me.
When we first met in Mr. Hamilton’s fourth-grade class, I never expected that we would still be friends in our sophomore year of college. Over these 10 incredible years, our friendship has seen so many inside jokes, tears, so much laughter and the rise and fall of relationships and other friendships (ahem, those who shall not be named). Through it all, we’ve stuck together and never let anything or anyone bring us down.
We have the kind of friendship where we can go months without talking, and when we’re together again, we can pick up right where we left off. That is one of the best kind of friendships to me. Some people have the friends they go to for advice, friends for a kick-ass time and friends for emotional breakdowns. You are all of those friends wrapped into one for me.
Together we are so carefree and completely unashamed of who we are, and I love that about our friendship. Knowing I have you as a friend gives me freedom. I'm not scared to do things I would normally be afraid to do, because I know that you will be right there next to me the whole time (like on the Man of Steel ride when I was about to cry and sh*t myself at the same time).
No matter how far apart the two of us are, I know that nothing can affect our friendship. I promise I will always be there to text you and let you know the gossip from our home town. I promise that you will be in my wedding. I promise my kids will know you as well as I do, and I expect the exact same from you missy. I can picture us now, old and senile, living in a retirement home together rocking back and forth in our rocking chairs gossiping and still laughing at our inside jokes. I can't wait. I love you 5ever.
Your Bestest Friend For Ever and Ever,
Rachel
