Now before I go ahead and write this in letter form, some of you may think it is rather odd to be writing to a YouTuber. But the idea for this came to while watching Jenna's video last week.
If you do not watch Jenna you may be slightly confused by the references. Maybe this is not the normal piece of journalism you see on here, but Jenna has made a difference in this seemingly negative world.
Dear Jenna Marbles,
I have been watching your videos for quite some time now, and honestly, I can say you probably put the best content out on YouTube. Since YouTube has become such a popular platform, and most people my age watch it more than television, you consistently put out content that is quite unique.
A lot of people might think it is weird that you have a hamster named Ad and that you make tiny things for him. They may think it is weird that you shaved your eyebrows off in a video. They may also think it is strange that you constantly make nail videos and they all end in utter chaos.
But that is honestly what makes you unique in this world, and I applaud you for that. You try things people normally would not, and that is entertaining. I do not know anyone who would put 100 coats of concealer and fake eyelashes on their face. That my friend, is courage.
I understand why you have 17 million subscribers and you deserve each and every one. Not only do you care about them, you value their opinion when it comes to making content, and you allow us to have a say. Not many people or many YouTubers care that much. You have been consistently caring about your fans since you first started gaining the following you have now.
I look forward to every Wednesday and Thursday when you post a new video and guessing when it will go up. I love that you are relaxed when posting a new video, and if you have a lot going on, you just sit down and talk to your audience. That is probably the most real thing any YouTuber can do because most act like they are celebrities. However, you are the real deal.
While watching your videos, I have laughed until I cried. I have woken my roommate up in college because I was awake at 1 a.m. watching your videos and have just sat there laughing. Your videos have cured a multitude of bad days, and for that, I thank you.
You have a gift to make people laugh, on a platform that makes many people laugh. You have used it wisely. You do not use your stance on the web to cause drama and hate on people, and that is another that makes you so great. So keep doing what you are doing, because honestly, you have made a difference in people's lives.
Thanks,
Olivia Riccio
