Dear Summer Self,
It's almost time. There's not much separating us except three papers, four exams, and one project. Pretty soon we'll be back together, waking up in our full-size bed as the morning sunshine gleams through our small old windows. We won't have to worry about putting on pants every time we go to the bathroom, and we won't have to walk close to five minutes for unsatisfactory cafeteria food either. The summer is ours to do as we wish. Don't sleep your day away and eat frozen foods. Don't binge watch Netflix for days at a time without leaving the comfort of your bed. Don't make plans with your friends and then find lame excuses to avoid socialization. And please do not wait until late August to start getting in shape for the new school year.
Get a job, read books, go on adventures, visit old friends, plan vacations, and make and eat healthy meals. Do whatever you want, but don't do nothing. Workout everyday, go for hikes and bike rides, long runs on the rec. path, and kayaking in the reservoir. Be courageous. Be spontaneous. Be motivated. Be dedicated. Make this summer one you won't forget, not one that flies by while you're on the couch.
Thank you, From Current Self
