A Letter To My Pup

To the sweetest thing, I've ever encountered,

I want to start this letter off with a huge I LOVE YOU! When I first set my eyes on you as a very small puppy, I knew that this was the beginning of a wonderful and beautiful relationship. I remember looking at you and just being an awe that such a small creature could be so trusting, loving, and fun. At first, you weren't so keen on coming near me but after we got used to each other you began running up to me the minute you saw me. You put your whole trust in me and for that, I am grateful.

I also want to thank you for showing me a lot of lessons. You have taught me to always express and show everyone love no matter the circumstance, to greet every day with happiness and excitement, because who knows what could happen, as well as to just live life freely.

I appreciate all you have done for me and I know you appreciate all that my family and I have done for you over the past year. And while soon you won't be my little puppy anymore (even though you are definitely not little despite only being one), you will always be the little guy that successfully stole my heart that semi-warm day in December. I can't wait to see what adventures we embark whether it;s to go hiking, a quick walk to the park, or just a drive around town in my station wagon.

Thank you for being there for me as much as I hope you feel I am there for you. You have taught me so much and loved me so much and for that, I am eternally grateful (can't you tell I love my dog?) and appreciative. I can't wait for more games of fetch, nice naps during the day, and more crazy moments where you either sit on my head, force your way into my lap to take a sit or lay completely on me so you can be more comfortable while relaxing.

I love and miss you King and am so excited for our future times together.

With so much love,

Mone

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
