Life seems pretty simple sometimes, doesn't it? We stand proud and firmly on our faith and belief that Jesus is Lord. When we are judged, we simply say “I’ll proudly accept the label of Jesus Freak.” We beam, along with our fellow believers. But what about when you’re made fun of and ridiculed? How firmly do you stand, and how do you react? This letter is for all of the people who called me "Jesus Freak". Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for helping me realize the strength of my faith. Being judged, made fun of, and ridiculed are things that people do in this world. No matter what. When I was judged and made fun of, it allowed me to go to God and speak to Him. God was judged and ridiculed 100x more intensely than we, and that to me is beautify. If He can handle it, I can. I rest easy knowing that being made fun of in certain situations glorifies Him.
Thank you for helping me learn that popularity is irrelevant. Walking down the hallway as a Senior in High School is difficult regardless of the situation. People will find literally anything they can to make fun of you for. Especially being different, and worshiping Jesus is definitely considered different. Popularity doesn't define us. We define ourselves, and we need to stop listening to the ugly social standards, and start using our voice.
Thank you for teaching me to never force my beliefs. When you have something as passionate and exhilarating as the Holy Spirit running through your veins, it's hard to contain it. It's so easy to want to force it on everyone around you, but we need to remember that forcing our beliefs on someone won't make them believe truly. It will make them feel like they have to, and that's not genuine. We need to show them slowly, and teach them to love the Holy Spirit within their hearts. I pray that all of you find your comfortability in your faith, and that at some point in your walk with Jesus, you will shout your love for Him on the rooftops.
