To My Friend Who Transferred

You suck, but I love you.

Jamie Corbett

Dear Bestie,

Thank you for getting me through freshman year of college. Without you, I'd seriously, probably would not have made it out with my sanity. From you occasionally coming into my dorm room to visit, and then basically becoming a third roommate because you were there so often, I'm not sure how I'll cope with not seeing you every day. However, I think I'll manage, and I want you to know I'm proud of you.

Lately you've been saying you're scared you won't make any friends at your new school, which is completely and utter crap because you're wonderful and anyone will be lucky to become your friend. And even if they don't like you right away (kind of like me... sorry) they'll seriously grow to love you because that is how amazing you are.

I can't wait to come see you perform at this new school, and see all the incredible things you're going to accomplish! I'll probably be driving up your school, at least, every other weekend (because I'm going to miss you like crazy). But I'm super excited to see how much you're going to grow in this new environment, and I'm thankful to have been part of your college experience and adventure.

I'm going to miss the random screaming, laughing, and pterodactyl noises that cut through any kind of silence that happened in my room, and coming back in the middle of the night to you sleeping in my bed, or just leaving you in my room because you'd rather be there than in your own.

Even though I'm going to miss you like crazy, and we won't see each other every day, it's not like we're out of each other's lives! I will always be only a phone call, a text message, a FaceTime, or even an hour-ish drive away. I love you so much, and you're more than just "the friend I made at college"! You're one of my best friends that I have ever made, and I'm positive in saying we'll always be in each other's lives.

Kick butt at West Virginia University, and I'll come visit in a few weeks.

Love,

Me

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
