Dear Coffee.

I love you and I always will love you. As I have aged, you have become an essential part of my life. Our relationship started as a frappuccino from McDonald's every now and then. Your bitterness was smothered by all of the ice and sweet chocolate (or caramel depending on how I was feeling).

I now drink a large cup every day. I cannot function without my daily dose. I buy special creamer and sweetener to enjoy with you. My morning is not complete without a cupful.

Oh coffee, there is no other drink quite like yours! Hot tea is no competitor and don't even get me started about hot chocolate. I could never choose leaf water or sad marshmallows over the caffeine rush I get. Your warm embrace is what keeps me from strangling someone before 10 a.m.

You keep me motivated and alive in my 8 a.m. classes. It is the thought of your rich smell that helps me out of bed every morning and through my workout.

Thanks for always being there for me and being my biggest supporter.

No matter the price, I will continue to buy you. There are so many options, sometimes it is hard to decide. I will always enjoy your taste with a bagel in the mornings. I will enjoy your company while watching Netflix as a way to procrastinate getting ready. My cabinet will always be open. Thanks for always getting me through the day.

You are the real MVP.

Hot or cold, your my personal cup of black gold.

I love you coffee and I hope you never forget. I hope this letter to you will encourage others to love you as openly as I do. Stay awesome, coffee, and never let your self be brewed weak.

Love,

A big fan of yours

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
