Having a girl best friend is natural, its as if it's in the unwritten rule that girls are destined to have a girl best friend. On the other hand, having a boy best friend is really rare to find, but I am so thankful that I have my best friend by my side.

Dear Best Friend,

First, let me start off by saying that you are the definition of a ride or die. I'm thankful that you have never ever let me down or left me hanging when I was in the midst of things falling apart or even when I was out for the count. When I first met you, I didn't think that we would've got this far and for our friendship to make it to two and a half years makes me glad that I second guessed it. I usually have my so called "boy best friends" walk right out of my life, and even my close friends, but the simple fact that you stayed through all of the bad days when I didn't want anyone around, and to the good days means the world.

Thank you for the days when you drove 30-40 minutes just to come and see me because I missed you! And even thank you for the pop up visits you do just because you're off work or even if you're bored. Thank you for still being there when I make dumb decisions about school, life, boys, etc. Thank you for never showing a sign of being fake. Thank you for always supporting me during Track season, even on some days when I want to give up and quit. I don't know how you did it, but thank you for dealing with my bad attitudes, even though some days, you might want to tell me to shut up and go somewhere. I'm thankful that you are a God-fearing man, because having a best friend that lets God use them is only the best. I'm thankful that you don't let the girls you associate with destroy the bond we have. I'm thankful that I have a best friend that can style himself up very well.

Out of everything we have been through, the good and the bad, the happy times, and even the sad times, I can't be thankful enough for the first day we met. Nothing is perfect, but you being my best friend is almost as perfect as it can get. That's pretty good for me, if I would say so. I just can't thank you enough for everything. I absolutely love you and am grateful for everything that you have done in my life.

With all the love,

Your Best Friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
