A Letter To America On Election Day

On November 8th, 2016 a new U.S president will be elected for their first term to serve the great country of America. The presidential campaigns and debates have been nothing short of interesting. People have complained and made fun of both presidential candidates. My peers that have just turned eighteen like I have do not want to vote because they do not like their options. Social Media has blown up both candidates and made jokes that we should all either move to Canada or we should all let Kanye West be president. To sum it up, every one is confused on who to vote for and what to stand for. America is at a time of confusion and unfortunately it is time for America to decide where it stands.

I do not stand with Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, I stand with Jesus. He may not be on the ballot, but the man or woman that he will guide to lead this nation into a better place is. Each night I pray that God will guide this country back into a Godly country.

America was created by the Founding Fathers, who had a strong foundation with God. They are the reason that we have the privileges that we have and they are the reason for the opportunities that we have. America is a young, successful, and prosperous country. This is all because of God. We connected with him, trusted him, and let him guide us. I strongly believe that the reason why America is in the shape it is in today is because we have strayed away from him.

So, what does all of this mean? It means that you should vote for the person you believe will listen to God and not listen to their own will and self want. I am not going to tell you who I voted for and I am not going to tell you who to vote for. There is no need for that. The only need that we have is God, and he is always there. As a country we must turn to him. Let him save this country, because he is the only one that can.

Now, I have written this four days before election day. I have no idea who will win. But, whoever does may he or she have the same intentions for this country as God does. Do not be discouraged with whoever wins, pray that they are the answer to making this nation a nation that loves Jesus and people again. Pray that the 45th president of the United States of America has a strong foundation with God like our Founding Fathers did and pray that the United States of America will have the strongest foundation with God that it has ever had soon. God works in mysterious ways, remember that and be grateful that he blessed you to be in this country.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
