She was undoubtedly the best part of the show.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Lorelai Gilmore is the best character in the series. While I love Rory, she does seem a little self-righteous at times and Lorelai's sense of humor is just unbeatable.

So, this week I thought it would be fun to write about eight of the best lessons that Lorelai Gilmore taught me throughout the seven seasons of "Gilmore Girls."

1. A sense of humor can help you get through everything.

Just remember that when your judgmental relatives come into town, you can always work your way out of it with humor and wit.

2. You don't have to live up to anyone's expectations.

Lorelai taught me how to be confident enough in myself that other's expectations don't matter. No matter your relationship status, career status, or your phase in life, just remember that you don't have to impress anyone but yourself, nor do you have to follow anyone else's dreams but your own.

3. Your romantic life may be in shambles.

But that's OK! You do you, girl!

4. Don't be afraid to call someone out.

Honesty is important, so never be afraid to let someone know if they're doing the wrong thing. A true friend will appreciate your perspective. But unlike Lorelai...maybe present it more delicately.

5. Fashion is IMPORTANT!

Enough said.

6. Coffee is a lifestyle NOT just a beverage.

You can call me an addict, but that won't make me stop! Like Lorelai, I like "coffee with my oxygen." It has become a daily ritual at least four times a day and keeps me going through labs, lectures, and everything in between.

7. Laughter is the best medicine!

Laugh boldly, laugh intensely, and laugh until your stomach hurts. It makes all the difference!

8. Love without reservation.

You may get hurt, but never regret loving others. Like Lorelai, wear your heart on your sleeve and more often than not it will work out in your favor.

Lorelai Gilmore was the quirky and hilarious mother figure throughout the seven seasons of "Gilmore Girls" plus the revival. These eight lessons are some we can all learn from as we strive to be more like that stylish and loving Gilmore girl!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
