" Gilmore Girls" found a special place in all of our hearts over the years, so it's time to talk about the many lessons they subliminally integrated into our lives!

1. There is no such thing as too much coffee.

Coffee is not just a means of waking up in the morning, it is a lifeline. It is a means of living, as important as oxygen. Never doubt the power of a good cup of coffee.

2. How important friendship is.

Even if your friends drive you crazy, are always hurting themselves, or telling you that you are completely insane yourself, always cherish those relationships, because they make you who you are.

3. It is okay to need your parents, even as a “grown up."

There is no shame in needing to call mom or dad just to talk, cry or vent. Just because you are supposed to be a "grown up" aka an adult does not mean you are weak for needing your mom or dad.

4. It's okay to not always have everything planned.

Some people will have their entire lives planned out and some try to plan everything, but when one thing does not go as planned, it throws the rest of the schedule into disarray. It's completely acceptable to not have the next five years planned out, just take it day by day to accomplish your goals.

5. Even if you do everything you can, there's still a chance you may fail & that's okay.

Paris not getting accepted to Harvard is a perfect example of doing everything physically and mentally possible to achieve a goal and still not succeeding. But, her "failure" turned into a blessing by going to Yale instead, a school she ended up excelling at, and she got to room with Rory...win-win (in Paris' mind that is).

6. It may take longer than you want it to, to find the right person.

Do not rush yourself into wrong relationships, the right one will come along when you least expect it and when you need it the most. There was a lot of built-up tension leading up to Luke finally asking Lorelai out, but it was unexpected nonetheless and absolutely perfect while it lasted...or maybe they are still together after that last magical kiss?

7. Sometimes you need to wallow.

Denial is normal but after we refuse to accept the situation it is healthy to give yourself time to reflect and wallow on the situation. Whether it is losing your first boyfriend because you were afraid to tell him you loved him, or any other life-changing event, it is still healthy and normal to give yourself some time to work on yourself afterward and come to terms with it.

8. Sometimes you'll have days where you can't stand anyone, but it doesn't make you a bad person.

There are just some days that we wake up on the wrong side of the bed, for some they do that more often than others, but it is okay to have days like this, and even better when it comes to finding someone else to share your mutual hate for something.

9. Sarcasm makes every situation better.

Some people understand the need for sarcasm and are able to appreciate it more than others. It keeps you on your toes. Though, not everyone is used to the witty banter of the infamous Gilmore girls; they always have you wondering what they will say next.

10. You do not have to achieve the same thing as others to be successful.

Lorelai Gilmore is the perfect example of making something of yourself from nothing and choosing the path less taken. She always put Rory before anyone else, and her happiness came second to making her daughter's life great, which is what being a mother is really about.

11. It's normal to take chances.

For someone who is used to always doing the right thing, it is hard to be willing to take risks at times, but it is something everyone should do at some point, even if it is jumping off of a contraption made by drunk college kids with an umbrella. Or, it could be something as simple as getting up the courage to ask out the hottie you have been eyeing up for a while.

12. Enemies can turn into friendships.

Paris and Rory's relationship is the perfect example of enemies that can become friends. Their relationship went from enemies to frienemies to friends to roommates to ex-roommates to a friendship they will both cherish for years to come. There is always that one friendship that starts from unusual circumstances, and sometimes those are the best friendships.

13. You can't choose your family.

As much as many of us would like to, we can't choose our family. The relationship between Emily and Lorelai is a prime example of someone wishing they could choose their family. Though their relationship is strained, to say the least, there are many times throughout the show where you see the strange bond they share. Though neither of them would like to admit it, they complement each other, just as many mother-daughter relationships do.

14. Treasure the people who make you happiest, even if it scares you.

The right love is a scary thing, but if it is right it is worth taking the risk to open yourself up and be vulnerable to another person. It is one of the scariest things that we have to accept, letting go of our fears and letting another person in to the deepest depths of our souls.

15. Everyone needs a Luke in their life…and even a Kirk.

Both Luke and Kirk have more in common than they both think. They are both dependable. Luke is dependable to run to the rescue no matter what sticky situation you get yourself into. When Kirk says he'll do something he is all in, even when sometimes his all in is a little bit more than it needs to be, but nonetheless they both are people you need in your life. We all need someone to call when we are in a jam who we can count on to help us out.

16. Be unapologetically yourself, always.

The most important lesson I learned while falling in love with "The Gilmore Girls" was to never question who you are or what you believe in, even if it is as simple as a good cup of coffee and ordering too much take out. "The Gilmore Girls" will always have a place in my heart, and I am so thankful to have shared so many memories with them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
