Lessons We Should All Learn From Fat Amy

Wait... She actually calls herself fat Amy?

The answer is yes. But her real name is Fat Patricia, don't question it.

Aside from all of the laughs, there are actually some really important lessons that we could all learn from Fat Amy. She's funny, she's confident, she isn't afraid to tell it how it is and most importantly she isn't afraid to go after what she wants. So the real question is, who wouldn't want to be a little more like her?

1. She teaches us to take risks

Paddling across a lake while singing We Belong by Pat Benatar is pretty risky if you asks me, but she knows what she wants and she'll do whatever she has to do to get it.

(Here's the full scene. You're welcome.)

2. She's not afraid to be herself.

Mermaid dancing? Horizontal running? She doesn't care what other people think of her because she thinks she's pretty awesome. And I think that's pretty awesome.

3. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Fat Amy knows what it means to her.

And so should you.

4. She always find the silver lining.

Enough said.

5. She knows when to have a little fun.

She knows when it's time to get work done too, but when all of the work is done at the end of the day, she's the life of the party.

6. She makes good choices. Always.

Okay.. maybe not always, but she does most of the time and that's all that counts.

7. She's the perfect amount of dramatic.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am just about the most dramatic person ever (econd behind Fat Amy, of course). Fat Amy just teaches us to embrace it, because what's so wrong with being a little dramatic?

Bottom line, I think that Fat Amy is someone that everyone could learn a thing or two from. We should all just let go and unleash our inner Fat Amy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
