6 Lessons Dogs Can Teach Humans About How To Live A Better Life

Dogs might be one of the best things this world has to offer to us. They are always there for you and don't really expect a whole lot from you in return. They are called man's best friend for a reason. Dogs are quite special animals to many people and they often times can cheer people up very easily. Sometimes even a picture of a goofy dog can cheer some people up. Dogs can't talk, yet they can teach humans many life lessons. Those lessons can vary from very simple things to some moral lessons that everyone should incorporate in their own life.

1. Always be kind

Dogs teach us that it's always important to be kind to one another no matter what. They can always find kindness in their heart for anyone they meet. Literally, you could see a dog for the first time and they would run up to you and say hi and want to be petted. This is a lesson we should take from dogs and apply it in our own lives so that maybe we would judge people less.

2. Be more forgiving

Dogs are always very forgiving of people's actions and always come back to them with a loving attitude. Sometimes dogs can give some sassy attitude as well but that they always forgive their owners when they get punished for something or when the owner accidentally steps on their tail. As humans, we can learn to be more forgiving of others and try to forgive and forget something that shouldn't bother us for more than a day.

3. Be a good listener

Dogs will always be there to listen to what you have to say. They usually can tell when something is off and they are there for you if you need to vent or cry. Their ears perk up and are right next to you. You don't even know if they can understand what you are telling them, but you still talk to them. As humans, we should learn that people sometimes just need others to listen to what they have to say.

4. Always be yourself

Dogs are always themselves no matter what. They always just act like the goofy animals they are. Many of them have big personalities and they show that every day. They don't think about what others think of them. They just go out and live everyday to the best of their ability. As humans, we can learn to accept who we are as people and just go live our best life. It will take a lot of stress off of daily life.

5. Be more cheerful

Dogs are always the most cheerful animals around. Whenever you come home they always run to you just to say hi and to try and get you to pet them. Literally, you could've just had a terrible day, but your dog will always be there for you to cheer you up. This could teach humans to enjoy life more and to know that everything will be ok.

6. Sniff some butts

Dogs do this quite often to each other so why not have us try it! Ok this was a joke don't go try this one at home.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
