I am sure that you have already been bombarded with Beyoncé's BeyHive in regards to Lemonade, her sixth studio album and second visual album. Of course, Beyoncé is not going to simply promote her album and announce the release date ahead of time. Oh no! Beyoncé is going to drop it right when you least expect it! When Queen Bey drops an album we all have to get in formation! Here we have 12 reasons, modeled after the 12 songs, why Lemonade is as ice cold as albums come!
1. Lemonade opens with a haunting ballad.
"Pray You Catch Me" opens up Lemonade in a way in which you know that this is going to be the best album you will ever hear. Beyoncé is flying from the sky into water and does so perfectly. BAEoncé is back at it again!
2. We continue the story with ode to an unfaithful partner.
Okay we have all been here before, though, Bey. We feel you on this one.
3. BLACK WOMENS' ANTHEM ALERT!
Beyoncé kills the game on track 3, "Don't Hurt Yourself." #Slay
4. "Sorry, I'm NOT sorry."
Sorry, but when Beyoncé brought out Serena Williams and Amandla Stenberg... they slayed us all!
5. The visual album continues with an empowering anthem.
It would not be a Beyoncé album without an empowering anthem to wealth and power.
6. DADDY LESSONS!
Beyoncé takes a swing at country music, and does so flawlessly. She returns to her roots and sings about everything that she learned from her father, Matthew Knowles.
7. Waiting for a Beyoncé album gives us trust issues.
...and that is exactly what this song is all about!
8. One word: Sandcastles.
Ok... not quite....
"Sandcastles" is one of the vocal highlights of the album, and serves us all some genuine hopefulness.
9. Then Beyoncé slays us yet again, with the major turning point.
At this point in the album, it is clear that Beyoncé is leaving the past in the past, and is ultimately making a point to keep moving forward.
10. Break them chains, Bey! BREAK 'EM!
Talk about empowerment?! Beyoncé gives us hope. This song is a reminder of everything from slavery to the Black Lives Matter movement. #Slay
11. The resolution to 'Lemonade.'
The penultimate track goes in for the kill, as we are reminded of our own need for determination and our constant mental note to continue to press on. We all relate to this on an emotional level, because we all secretly wish we could be Beyoncé and Jay-Z. And thus, Beyoncé reminds us of what we all want and need in our life. #RelationshipGoals
12. LET'S GET IN FORMATION, Y'ALL.
And just one last reminder: GET IN FORMATION!
