My friend Molly wrote an article a couple of weeks ago called "12 Things Lazy Girls Hate About First Dates" and so I thought to myself, "The lazy girl lifestyle is REAL."

But you know what?

That's okay, I'm here to help you get through it with these kitchen hacks so you can still be lazy, but at least you won't starve.

1. Spoon as a Knife

Giphy

Too lazy to do dishes? Don't have a knife? Need to butter your toast or put cream cheese on your bagel? Don't worry. Spoons are a universal utensil. Just flip it and use the back of it like a butter knife. Problem solved.

2. Microwave Egg Sandwich

Giphy

The microwave is the center of lazy living. But it doesn't just need to be for frozen dinners and popcorn. You can make a bomb egg sandwich in there with REAL EGGS. Yes. Real eggs. Basically, you take a glass bowl about the size of the bread you are using. I like using an English muffin so think that size. Spray it with cooking spray or some kind of oil so it doesn't stick, scramble the egg in it, pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds or until the white isn't runny. When it's done, slide it out onto your bread, add some cheese. BAM egg sandwich in less than 2 minutes.

3. Broccoli Mac and Cheese

Giphy

Any lazy person knows box mac and cheese is a go-to dinner, however, not always the healthiest option. Guess what? I can fix that. Add chopped broccoli to the pot while you're cooking the pasta. It'll take the same amount of time and you won't feel so bad about eating the whole box. Again.

4. Toasted Cheese

Giphy

Carbs and cheese are a lazy girl's favorite things. Hence the mac and cheese mentioned above. But grilled cheeses, although quick in themselves, still require a bit more effort than we would like to put out some days. Instead, try toasted cheese. Two pieces of bread, a slice of American cheese on each side, toast it up in the toaster oven and there you go. No watching, flipping or buttering. Just cheesy goodness.

5. Smoothies

Giphy

Smoothies are the best thing for lazy people who care about their health on a general level. Throw a bunch of fruit in the blender (NutriBullets are lazy girl approved since you make the smoothie in the same cup you drink it in) and you're done! Doesn't really matter the combo and you can have one for any meal. Perfect.

6. Salad Kits

Giphy

Again, trying to be healthy? Too lazy to ACTUALLY try? Get a salad kit, dump all the ingredients in a bowl, mix, eat. Then praise yourself for eating a vegetable. Go you.

7. Tacos

Giphy

Literally all you need to make tacos is some kind of meat (or meatless crumbles if you'd prefer), taco spice mix and then toppings. The meat cooks in less than 15 minutes and it'll probably last you a few meals. Now you're a meal prepper too! Too much effort? Just order a pizza. You deserve it.

Moral of the story: embrace the laziness but still eat good and maybe postpone the dishes for a little bit.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
