Often times I live my life and imagine what my soundtrack would be. Other times, I listen to soundtracks and they really define what life is right now. The other night, one of my friends/roommates and I were having some music education and I stumbled upon the Shrek 2 soundtrack. I've never had an album so perfectly describe the second half of college. Shrek is life. Enjoy.

1. 'Accidentally In Love' by Counting Crows

Counting Crows knew what they were talking about. We all also know there's that one person you fall for even though you know you shouldn't.

2. 'Holding Out For A Hero' by Frou Frou

When you know you deserve someone special and you are ok with waiting for them. (The Frou Frou Version)

3. 'Changes' by Butterfly Boucher

Friend groups change, life changes, plans change; basically, everything you ever thought would happen just isn't quite what you planned for.

4. 'As Lovers Go' (Ron Fair Remix) by Dashboard Confessional

You're talking about when I order pizza or treat myself with Insomnia Cookies right?

5. 'Funkytown' by Lipps Inc.

Deciding that even though we are more serious upperclassmen now, fun nights are still deserved. Get that Funk on.

6. 'I'm on My Way' by Rich Price

...to insanity, to the bar, to class, the options are endless and all appropriate. Or, this is our response to free food.

7. 'I Need Some Sleep' by Eels

Every. College. Student. Ever.

8. 'Ever Fallen In Love' by Pete Yorn

This one is a classic used to defer concerned friends when you make stupid decisions. It's ok to be dumb sometimes.

9. 'Little Drop of Poison' by Tom Waits

What group members in group projects need. Or that professor that is as utter pain. Or just the people who are too obnoxious to handle. Its quite the relatable song.

10. 'You're So True' by Joseph Arthur

When you meet someone who matches your awkward weirdness.

11. 'People Ain't no Good' by Nick Cave

When you go through a best friend breakup. Who are people anyway?!

12. 'Fairy Godmother Song' by Jennifer Saunders

When you go out on the town to try to meet people, or just impress someone in class, and your friend gives you a makeover.

13. 'Livin La Vida Loca' by Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas

How we all feel by the end of the semester.

14. 'Holding Out for a Hero' by Jennifer Saunders

The best remix ever. 'Where have all the good men gone?!'

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
