This is an excerpt from a poetry book I keep. I often write and doodle original creations in this book when feeling inspired. In the spirit of the upcoming total solar eclipse, I thought I would share one of my poems with the community.
The moon controls the sea,
But only to a certain degree.
So I must know
Why is it so interesting to me?
I feel that the moon is female
Her mysterious qualities and tendency to bail
Have left me wondering
Is she strong or is she frail?
Perhaps that is why she entices me so
For at night she is the only glow
She reminds myself of me
And how ever so often, I too must go
Most prefer to live by the sun,
But I believe the moon is more fun.
Elusive, lonely, yet truth revealing is she
For over my soul, she has won
