The Korean pop industry has created many K-pop groups from Big Bang to Super Junior and much more, some a lot less popular.
There are currently three major companies in South Korea that produce the bulk of the most famous K-pop groups: YG Entertainment founded by Yang Hyun Suk, JYP Entertainment founded by Park Jin-Young and SM Entertainment founded by Lee Soo-Man. A semi-new group from JYP Entertainment called Got7 has been gaining popularity with every comeback and album release. Got7 is a boy group comprised of seven members:
JB: Leader and vocalist, born January 6, 1994
Youngjae: Vocalist, born September 17, 1996
Jr.: Vocalist, born September 22, 1994
Mark: Rapper, born September 4, 1993
Bambam: Rapper, born May 2, 1997
Jackson: Rapper, born March 28, 1994
Yugyeom: Maknae and vocalist, born November 17, 1997
Mark, JB, Yugyeom, Jr., Jackson, Youngjae, and BamBam (in order from left to right)
The group first debuted sometime around 2014 and has released a couple of albums already including two just this year. As of today the K-pop boy group has released:
[2014] "Got it?, Got Love"
[2015] "Just Right, Mad"
[2016] "Moriagatteyo", and their latest album called "Flight Log: Departure."
The group has been successful in many ways and continues to constantly reach out to the fans via concerts around the world, V-app, fan meetings and signings and numerous appearances on various variety shows. Got7 also helped introduce themselves to fans through their very own video series called "Real Got7" which is two seasons long. They are currently undergoing their most recent mini series called "Got7'ing,'" which is uploaded to V-app regularly with English subtitles along with other languages so that non-Korean viewers can enjoy as well. All in all the group's members have featured on a whole lot of different radio shows, programs and even Korean dramas; some of which including "After School Club" hosted by Eric Nam, "A Song For You," "Celebrity Bromance," "A Look at Myself" and many others. They have been on virtually all of the popular music shows of the K-pop world including Inkigayo, M-Countdown and Pops in Seoul. The leader of the group, JB (real name Im Jae Bum) even starred in a Korean drama by the title of "Dream High 2," where he played a teenage boy who struggled to follow his dreams in the music industry. All the members of Got7 filmed the mini drama "Dream Knight," which served to let viewers feel even closer to the talented boys.
It is certainly safe to say that JYP Entertainment's youthful boy group has made its name known throughout Asia, with a fan base that only continues to grow as they gain popularity.
