Recently, Kanye West has been all over the news, and here I am adding to it. He just dropped his ninth album "Jesus Is King" which suggests that Kanye has gone through an almost "spiritual journey." He has not only spread the gospel but also speaks about finances, his marriage and kids throughout the album. He is raw and real, but with that, comes vulnerability and.... insecurity.
But what do I think?
I think Kanye West is one of the most influential musicians on this planet. Most everybody knows his name or has listened to the messages he conveys through his songs. This gives him the power to expose and mold people's minds to new ideas. While his wife, Kim Kardashian West, captured her fame through emphasizing that being curvy and not a stick is beautiful too. After she captured her fame, she now owns a skincare/makeup brand, undergarment brand, and is the founding social media influencer.
The latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians shows a disagreement between Kim and Kanye that showed this new insecurity of Kanye's. Kanye was voicing to Kim, the day before the event, that he doesn't appreciate it when she wears tight clothes and takes sexy pictures. Obviously, Kim doesn't like this and Kanye just leaves.
So here's my issue.
My issue is that you can go through a "spiritual journey" and grow as much as you want to; that doesn't mean others have to as well. You can think that wearing looser clothes will make the culture more promiscuous, but I can tell you that you are wrong.
Tyler Cameron tweeted a response to the Keeping Up With The Kardashian episode Sunday night which has others backing him up against Kanye's insecure bicker.
In conclusion,
I miss the OLD Kanye. The CONFIDENT Kanye.
