Kate Spade's Suicide Is A Reminder That No One Is Immune To Mental Illness

By now everyone has probably heard about the suicide of famous fashion designer Kate Spade, I personally did not buy her stuff as it was too expensive for my price range, but I have heard about her and seen photos of her stuff, and if I did have money I would have probably bought it. But that is not the point of this article, the point is that no one is immune to mental illness.

Whenever someone successful and famous commits suicide there are commenters on social media saying:

"Why would they do that? They had everything they were so successful."

"They couldn't have been that sad, look at them."

Well, it doesn't matter how much money that you make in a year, money is not the key to happiness.

Anyone can have depression, no matter the gender, race, religion, sexuality, no one is immune to it.

I feel like people making rude comments about her need to think, what if her family sees those comments? How do you think they will feel? Why do you even comment on them if you don't have anything nice to say?

You never know what someone is going through, sometimes even the most successful, happiest, and richest people can also be the saddest people out there, just look at Robin Williams! You would never have been able to tell that on the inside he was hurting.

The point that I am making is that you should be kind to people every day, whenever you make someone feel guilty after an attempted suicide it only makes the person feel worse, what you need to do is be there for them and be the support that they are going to need.

If you guys ever feel like you aren't worth anything in this world, you are and you are not alone, you have so much to live for and think about all of the people that love you and want to see you do amazing things.

If you guys are suffering from depression, it is not your fault at all. Don't let anyone tell you it is, you are valid, it is never too late to ask for help.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
