A Review And Rant Of Justin Bieber's Purpose Tour

I spent $92.80. That's how much money I spent for a two-hour and 30 minutes concert with nosebleed seats. On March 13, 2016, I drove 175 miles, three hours and 15 minutes from Seattle Washington to Portland Oregon to see the one and only Justin Bieber at the Moda Center. The car ride there included jamming to “My World 2.0” and “Purpose”, just in case you were wondering. But after going to the Purpose Tour, my opinion about Justin Bieber may have taken a turn for the worst.

Although I'm kidding about that last part, Justin Bieber needs to step it up for his beliebers. When I first walked into the arena, there was a sea of teenage girls with their moms and dads standing in a huge line waiting to get their hands on some Bieber merchandise. The merchandises are cute and all, but $40 dollars for a t-shirt? The shirt probably cost 2 dollars to make. We already paid more than enough for the tickets so, $40? Give us a break Justin; we’re not as rich as you. But don’t worry, I still bought a $40 t-shirt that I will probably wear once because I just love you that much.

The concert starts and I go to my crappy seat that I paid $92.80 for; I promise I'm not bitter. There were three opening acts in total. The first act was someone I can't remember the name of, but he was hot and he was a great singer who knew how to play the guitar. I wish I knew his name so I can stalk him on Instagram, but that’s ok.The second act was Moxie Raia. Moxie is a new upcoming R&B artist I’ve never heard of her before the concert, but she was pretty good and entertaining.

At 8:10 p.m., the arena is finally filling up and settling in. Opening act number three was Post Malone. The “White Iverson” and “Too Young” singer stole my friend’s and my heart. I don’t know about the 10-year-olds that filled up half of the arena but I loved every second of it. Overall, the opening acts were good. I personally preferred the opening acts for the My World Tour better: Sean Kingston and Iyaz. But I’m not going to complain about seeing Post Malone.

At 8:50 p.m.,— put on your ear plugs—it’s JUSTIN BIEBER! One of the first songs that was preformed was “Where Are You Now”; a great choice and great dance moves Justin. The concert goes on and Justin preformed all the songs from the "Purpose" album, with a couple of throwbacks ("As Long As You Love Me" and "Baby"). The crowd was hyped, and all the lights and graphic were on point. And spoiler alert: You will also see a shirtless Bieber by the end of the show.

Then, at 10:15 p.m., Justin preforms “Sorry” shirtless under pouring water. Yea, I know what you are thinking. And yes, it was heaven on Earth. About 20 minutes after, it's “Goodnight Portland, see you soon”? Woah. Wait, what? That’s it? The past two Bieber concerts lasted past 11 p.m., and Bieber kept coming back out to give more to the fans. People in the stands were shocked and started to check their phones for the time when Bieber said his goodbye. I drove three hours to Portland for a concert that did not even last for three hours? Come on, Justin.

Overall, $92.80 and a three-hour drive were worth it only because I am deeply in love with Justin Bieber. Would I do it again? Probably yes. Was it worth it? That’s very debatable. Justin, If you ever see this by any chance I know it’s not up to you but maybe lower the prices a bit for us broke college kids. And maybe smile once or twice during your concert? Your fans love you and we want to see a happy Bieber when we are at your concert.

Love,

Your forever number 1 fan

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
